Jermuk. Sanatorium.
Jermuk is a resort with mineral springs, clean mountain air, conifer trees and a bunch of sanatoriums. The very ones with procedures left over from the USSR.
I spent a long time choosing where we'd stay, and by a set of criteria - lodging + included meals + a price that isn't a gazillion - the choice fell on Moscow resort Jermuk. Booking through Booking.com turned out to be more expensive (often it's the other way around). So I booked directly.
The administration is very friendly and responsive; they let us arrive earlier and leave later. Even though it's off-season now, not everyone arranges such acts of generosity. For early check-in, late check-out and 4 nights we paid 260,000 dram - 60,000 more through Booking. A nice room with two bedrooms, a living room and a balcony. It included three meals a day and various procedures. Inhalations, a Charcot shower, strange peat bags on the shoulders, a salt room, oxygen cocktails and lots more interesting things. In short, we did a bit of "procedure-ing". Massage is paid, but reasonable - 5,000 dram per session. Before starting the procedures you have to see a therapist; they give the referral.
The food is monotonous and quite dietary, but there was always something to choose from.
From the sanatorium to the center of Jermuk and the mineral-water gallery is 15 minutes; to the Jermuk waterfall, 20-30 minutes at a leisurely pace. The location is very advantageous. After a drawn-out virus, we were happy to both go to the procedures and breathe the mountain air.
