πβββοΈ Tbilisi Zoo
Hi everyone!
We continue our January Tbilisi series. βοΈ We got lucky with the weather: it usually rains this time of year, but we had blue sky and sunshine.
So today letβs talk about Tbilisi Zoo. We finally decided to visit it during our fifth trip to Georgia. I had read many negative reviews: too few animals, poor condition, heavy damage after the flood, and so on. In such cases it is always better to go and see with your own eyes.
π¦πΎ I did not see poor conditions: enclosures were fairly spacious, and the animals looked healthy and well-fed. We saw a tiger, leopard, lions, βlevitatingβ raccoons, birds of prey, monkeys, zebras, elephants, a hippo, porcupines, jungle cats, a pretty large pavilion with reptiles and fish, and an area with ungulates.
Maybe the only missing things were bears and the classic zoo corn snacks, but these are minor details. Weβll compare with Yerevan Zoo - and yes, corn is there.
Bonus moment: when we approached the hippo, a zoo worker was passing by with a hay cart and in command mode βrecommendedβ we come closer: βYou feed hay, and you film.β So we did exactly that. Feeding a hippo at Tbilisi Zoo - β
Definitely recommended. Two hours will fly by.
